Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 August 2026
1. What FarmNet is
FarmNet.co.za (“FarmNet”, “we”, “us”) is an online marketplace that lets registered users list, browse and enquire about agricultural equipment, livestock, vehicles, property, produce and services in South Africa. We provide the platform for buyers and sellers to find and contact each other — we are not a party to any transaction between them.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be legally able to enter into agreements to use FarmNet.
3. Listings
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of anything you list. Listings must be placed in the correct category, must not misrepresent the item or its price, and must not include anything on our Prohibited Items list. We may review, edit, decline or remove any listing that breaches these terms or our marketplace guidelines, at our discretion.
4. Transactions between users
Any agreement to buy or sell is made directly between the buyer and seller. FarmNet does not inspect items, verify ownership, hold funds in escrow, or guarantee the outcome of any transaction. Read our Safety Tips before transacting, and exercise the same caution you would with any private sale.
5. Fees and paid features
Standard listings are free. Optional paid features — such as featured placement or a business subscription — are described on our Pricing page and charged at the rate shown at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable once a paid feature has been activated, except where required by law.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not use FarmNet to defraud another user, post false or misleading listings, scrape or resell platform data, interfere with the platform's operation, or circumvent any suspension or restriction we've applied to your account.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to FarmNet for accounts that breach these terms, without prior notice where the breach is serious (for example, suspected fraud).
8. Liability
FarmNet is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for losses arising from transactions between users, listing inaccuracies, or platform downtime. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under South African law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of FarmNet after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
